During my studies, I learnt about the inequality of trade between the West and Third World countries. For the latter, it is very difficult to put their products on the global market and get fair remuneration.

In 2010, I was eager to start my own business. While looking for new products for my webshop, my attention was drawn to fair trade and sustainable items. Handmade, sustainable, recycled, natural and often colourful. Added to this is the fact that trade through this fair trade label takes place at a fairer price. In short: products with a special story.

I decided to go for it and thus BeterLeven.net was born. Special and trendy products that contribute to a better life for their makers. Sustainable production also ensures a better environment.
